Compost refers to a stable organic material that has been degraded under controlled conditions. It is considered stable because there is minimal threat to human and environmental health. Some conditions (factors) controlled during composting are moisture, temperature, oxygen, and waste type. The most recognized method of composting is, thermophilic (hot) composting.
